SESSION TEAMS AT CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH At Central Presbyterian Church, the Session, the local governing body of the Presbyterian Church, is comprised of ten teams: Building and Grounds (B&G): This team is responsible for keeping the physical facilities of the church properly maintained and in good repair. The B&G Team also creates and maintains a long-range plan for our property. Christian Education (CE): This team is in charge of staffing, supporting, and operating the entire Christian Education Program for all ages, to include children, Middle School, Confirmation, High School, and Adult Spiritual Formation. Communication & Outreach (CO): This team is responsible for the year-round calendar of publicity, social media, and marketing efforts, to include the publicity of church group projects. Membership & Fellowship (MF): This team plans and organizes various fellowship activities for the congregation and community. The team is in charge of welcoming visitors and making sure they are included in our church family, and that members of the congregation connect with one another. Finance and Investments (F&I): This team oversees the financial condition of the church. It develops the annual operating budget., monitors actual revenue and expenses, and oversees the management of the unrestricted and restricted endowment funds. Mission: This team plans and oversees all efforts of the church to minister to human need, within our area and beyond. This team encourages congregational interest and involvement in many hands-on, local mission activities as well as support for worldwide issues of hunger, peacemaking, and social justice. Personnel & Administrative Support (P&AS): This team recommends and oversees the annual personnel budget, creates and maintains personnel policies, approved changes to non-ordained position descriptions, prepares new position descriptions, and administers the performance review process in collaboration with the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff. Stewardship & Planned Giving (S&PG): This team serves as the focal point for the stewardship concerns of the congregation. It administers the annual pledge drive and offers workshops for those members who are interested in remembering CPC in their wills and estates. Weekday Nursery School Support (WNSS): This team is the liaison to the Weekday Nursery School & Kindergarten. It focuses on facility needs and repairs, periodic church-school joint programming, and school parent-CPC relationships. Worship: This team is responsible for scheduling all Sunday morning worship services, WAVE services, and for their general format. The team also oversees the Music Program, including the Director of Music, volunteers, and all ensembles.
